PMO103 Heliophysics Group Manager

ADNET Systems, Inc. is seeking a full-time Group Manager (GM) to support the Space and Earth Science Data Analysis (SESDA) Project Management Office (PMO) with managing scientific, engineering, and associated technical activities in the Heliophysics Division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.  The SESDA Heliophysics Group is currently comprised of 56 contractors and 20 subcontractors supporting 44 tasks.

Duties:

  • Interface with Government task monitors (TM’s) to manage task requirements, identify and allocate resources, develop budget plans, monitor performance, and ensure deliverables are on schedule.
  • Monitor task spending to ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Perform risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Compile monthly progress reports.
  • Open job requisitions and evaluate/select candidates for recruitment.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews.
  • Support Health and Safety reviews and Government Furnished Equipment inventories.
  • Assist with development of proposals in response to NASA solicitations.
  • Mentor staff with professional development.
  • Engage with Heliophysics Division personnel to nurture and expand the Heliophysics group with new project and mission opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences or engineering disciplines.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience managing large groups (40-50) of technical staff.
  • Experience in the NASA contracting environment, particularly managing IDIQ contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • MS/PhD
  • Knowledge of NASA/GSFC science and engineering organizations.
  • Background in Physics, Astronomy, or Heliophysics.
  • Familiarity with CCMI practices.
  • At least 10 years of experience developing and/or reviewing NASA proposals.

US Citizenship (or Permanent Residence) and local residency in the Washington DC metropolitan area are required for this position.
