SS111 Building and Lab Facilities Manager

ADNET is seeking to hire a Building and Lab Facilities Manager to work at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. Duties include the maintenance of test facilities for pressure vessel systems and lifting device equipment, laboratory audits and inventories, hazardous material inspections, review of laboratory staff’s certifications and training (for example, electrostatic discharge), and upkeep of records documenting lab inspections and their utilization. The successful candidate will work with Goddard Division management and lab staff to coordinate service outages for electrical, chilled water, and compressed air disruptions, and submit work requests for building repairs. In addition, the candidate will identify the resources (equipment, power, training) needed to ensure the security and safety of the labs, create and maintain laboratory emergency plans, and regularly report to Division management on each lab’s safety and operational status.

This position requires the candidate to be onsite 5 days a week.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree.
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience (or combination of training and experience).
  • Experience managing building and lab facilities and maintaining their required services and systems (electrical, water, pressure).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience summarizing reviews and audits through written reports and presentations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule numerous activities that are in various stages of development.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (LPR) required, with US residency for the past 3 consecutive years.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Familiarity with:
    • NASA lab safety procedures and regulations
    • Managing development and flight instrument labs
    • Auditing and inventory processes, for example, equipment inventories and lab safety audits
    • Cryogenic systems, pressure vessel management, fume hoods, vacuum chambers, and lifting device equipment
    • Lab personnel certifications such as electrostatic discharge and crane operations
    • Storage and handling of hazardous materials and the logging and update of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
    • Clean room protocols
