JENNIFER ASH-POOLE
For her work in the creation of new websites for the Code 690 Laboratories and others. Jennifer has excelled as the Code 690 representative, helping to define, create and refine the needed development and formatting tools, and to train everyone in their use. Jennifer has done all of this, and more, in addition to her normal duties as a Code 690 System Administrator.
GEORGE CANTER
In addition to the excellent support he provides as a system administrator, George has taken a lead role on two projects very important to the Heliophysics Science Division: ensuring the new B21 computer rooms meet Division requirements, and successfully installing a new audiovisual system. Because of this work his customer cited him as having gone “above and beyond his normal A+ performance.”
JOHN GARRETT
As a long-time valued member of the NSSDC data ingest team, John is a jack-of-all-trades who gets shared with many tasks due to his range of talents and knowledge. He can be doing computer database work one day, computer programming the next, and writing and editing standards documents the day after that. In all cases he can be counted on as a cheerful and dependable team player.
JEFF MARTZ
This awardcommends Jeff for his exceptional planning and productivity in implementing extensive infrastructure upgrades and sustaining several key operations that support GSFC’s Science and Engineering Network (SEN) and High End Computer Network (HECN) R&D networks. His recent outstanding work leading the planning and retooling of the HECN network and power equipment is typical of his many contributions to that group.
JEFF MILLER
Jeff has provided truly outstanding supporting over the last year, becoming the right hand for his Government branch head. His contributions to sea ice algorithm development have been described by his customer as “fantastic” even as he also performed quality checks and error analyses and suggested important improvements that have led to publications and approvals for new projects. His customer describes him as tireless and “a phenomenal help.”
LARRY WOLTZ
Larry’s customer describes him as a “godsend as system engineer”. He has spent a significant amount of his own time developing science product code to ensure that schedules would be met, and he has been instrumental in tracking requirements changes, impacts, and omissions. His Government lead views him as the person other than himself that has a complete, global view of the Global Precipitation Monitor project.
