The SESDA II team supporting the Ozone Monitoring Instrument provides Near Real Time data within three hours of first measurement. The data is used in monitoring pollution around the world and is also used in surroundings models to help make predictions about future impacts of pollution. The figure below shows air pollution (NO2) data from December 23, 2008, over East Asia with China (Beijing), North Korea, South Korea and Japan shown. The image was produced by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) using data processed by staff at the SESDA II facility located at Goddard Corporate Park.
