SA050 HSD Mac System Administrator

ADNET is currently seeking to hire a Desktop System Administrator at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. The environment primarily consists of macOS and Windows desktops and laptops, with an opportunity to work on Linux workstations and servers as part of an established team.  The team supports scientists in the Heliophysics Science Division at NASA Goddard.  

The successful candidate will primarily support macOS systems using MDM tools to automate and streamline device management and provide technical support to the Division’s user community.

Required qualifications:

  • At least three years of macOS system support experience
  • Basic knowledge of managing systems using MDM tools, preferably Jamf.
  • Strong prioritization, problem solving, diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience supporting computer users in a help desk environment 
  • Strong communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required for this position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 2 Investigation through NASA.

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Microsoft Windows support experience
  • Working knowledge of desktop, laptop, or server hardware component troubleshooting and replacement
  • Experience in the installation & configuration of backup software on macOS and Windows, i.e. Time Machine, Druva, etc.
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as Git, Puppet, Ansible, and Windows Group Policy
  • Programming knowledge in Shell scripting, PowerShell, PERL and/or Python
  • Experience with the configuration of systems in accordance with security policies or best practices.
