OC224 Technician

NASA’s Earth Science Division (ESD) established the Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition (CSDA) program to explore the potential of commercial satellite data in advancing the agency’s Earth science research and application objectives. The program aims to identify, assess, and acquire data from commercial providers, which may offer a cost-effective means of supplementing Earth observations collected by NASA, other U.S. government agencies, and international collaborators.

The part-time Technician (30-60 hours per month) will contribute to the development of weekly and monthly reports, public-facing content, promotional materials, strategic information sharing initiatives, and coordination with the broader Earth Science Division and Headquarters to amplify the visibility and impact of NASA’s Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition (CSDA) program and its commercial data assets. 

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • Demonstrated experience with information analysis and data visualization.
  • Knowledge of the commercial Earth observing satellite industry.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (LPR) required, with US residency for the past 3 consecutive years.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation through NASA.
