GD154 IT Systems and Security Administrator

ADNET Systems is looking for an IT Systems and Security Administrator. This position requires a highly motivated individual with at least 2+ years of Systems Administration (SA) and System IT Security support experience.  In addition to routine system administration, the candidate will provide IT Security compliance support for the Precipitation Processing System PPS (http://pps.gsfc.nasa.gov/) program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. 

IT security support includes working with the Computer Security Official (CSO) and other SA team members at the  to:

  • Support NASA Security Assessment and Authorization (A&A)/Continuous Monitoring process and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with NASA Agency, Center, NIST (NIST 800-53) and FISMA IT Security policies, practices and procedures including NPR 2810.1A, including self-audits and penetration testing, support for periodic vulnerability assessments, and IT Security training for the GES DISC staff
  • Develop and maintain Security, Risk Assessment and Contingency plans as well as supplementary documentation of the applicable DISC physical systems, networks and configurations and Firewall rule sets
  • Support interfaces with the Center ITSM and local site Systems/Network Administrators.
  • Maintain internal documentation such as the Baseline documents, Waiver Database, and other IT Security related records

Systems administration support includes:

  • Support systems/network engineering and administration support for networks with enterprise-wide interfacing for resolution of network connectivity problems
  • Installation and maintenance of local area network hardware and software including servers, network nodes, terminals and wiring.

Required skills:

  • Strong communications skills in particular in technical writing, and presentations
  • Team player and ability to multitask in a matrix environment
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Multiple operating system knowledge; Linux (ex RedHat), Windows, MacOS
  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts: layers, routing, firewalls, application protocols Linux iptables and nftables, and configuration of firewalls
  • Hands-on experience with RPM-based Linux distributions, RHCE certification a plus Virtualization engines (XEN, KVM, etc.)
  •  US Citizenship is required for this position
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 2  Investigation through NASA

Desired:

  • Knowledge of AWS services and tools Vulnerability detection tools and ability to properly classify vulnerabilities and threats User authentication and authorization in LAMP environment
  • Experience with application used at the GES DISC; including ITSC, KACE, STRAW, ITSC, McAfee MVM, NESSUS, WSUS, Managed Software Center (Munki), Yum, Symantec End-Point Protection, Active Directory, Nagios, NAMS, Site Minder Open SSO, Apache httpd, Apache Tomcat, and SSL certificates, MS Office.
