SESDA II Peer Awards FAQ
Q: Who is eligible to be nominated?
A: A nominee must be a full-time employee of one of the SESDA II Team ADNET Companies.
Q: What are the SESDA II Team ADNET companies?
A: The companies are ADNET Systems, Honeywell, and Wyle.
Q: Who can nominate?
A: Any full-time SESDA II Team ADNET employee can nominate any other full-time SESDA II Team ADNET employee. The nominee does not have to be in the nominator's task or group.
Q: Is SESDA II management involved in the nominating process?
A: No. These are peer-to-peer nominations, and no managers are involved in the selection process.
Q: Which employees are not eligible for the awards?
A: Group managers and all winners of the previous year's peer awards are ineligible. The list of those who are ineligible is included in the nomination announcement.
Q: Who selects the winners of these awards?
A: The Peer Awards Committee selects the awardees.
Q: How are the members of the Peer Awards Committee selected?
A: There is no selection process. The committee is composed entirely of the previous year's Peer Awards winners.
Q: Can the Peer Awards Committee members submit nominations?
A: Yes, they can nominate any eligible employee.
Q: How many nominations can I submit?
A: There is no limit on nominations. You may nominate as many people as you like as long they meet the eligibility criteria.
Q: Can one person be nominated for more than one category, or even all of the Peer Award categories?
A: Yes, but if a winner who was nominated in multiple categories is chosen, the committee reserves the right to choose any one of those categories when presenting the award.
Q: Is there a limit to the number of winners for each category?
A: No, but there is a limit to the total for all categories, which is determined by the committee.
Q: Is there any monetary compensation with the award, and is it the same for each award category?
A: Yes, each award carries a monetary benefit, and it is the same for each award, independent of category. Each year the total amount of money to be awarded is decided by the SESDA II management. The committee is informed about this at the start of the nomination process.
Q: What are the responsibilities involved for a peer award winner after being selected?
A: There are none, but winners are encouraged to serve as Peer Award Committee members for the next year's nomination process.
Q: What is the total number of awards given every year?
A: Approximately 10, but the exact number awarded each year is up to the awards committee.
Q: Are the award categories the same every year?
A: The award categories are chosen by the committee each year, and each year's committee is free to change the categories as they see fit.
Q: How can I maximize the chances of winning for my nominees?
A: Provide nominations with lots of detail, and try to keep each nomination relevant to the selected category, as it is described in the nomination announcement. Since a person can win only one award, it is better to write one detailed nomination rather than send in multiple nominations for the same person.
Q: Can I withdraw a nomination after submitting it?
A: Yes, a nomination can be withdrawn by contacting the Peer Awards Committee.
Q: If I find out that I have been nominated, what action is needed to decline the nomination?
A: The nomination process is kept confidential, so this should only happen if the nominator decides to tell you about the nomination. In that event, to decline the nomination, ask the nominator to withdraw it.
Q: If I have a suggestion for a new category or any other issue regarding Peer Awards, can I bring it to the committee's attention?
A: Yes, please send e-mail to the address that is provided in the Peer Awards Nomination Announcement sent out during the nomination period, or send it to the SESDA II Program Manager.
