ADNET is currently seeking to hire a System Administrator to provide support in the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO) at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. The environment consists of a mix of RHEL and Windows operating systems.The successful candidate will implement, configure, maintain and support systems, server applications and backup configurations in a production environment.
They will provide exceptional support including but not limited to:

• Linux systems administration.
•  Windows system administration
• Provide user management including configuring new accounts, password resets, and troubleshooting user login, profile and permission issues.
•  Provisioning and managing Linux systems and Windows systems, storage, managing backups and restore tasks.
• Maintain standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation on an ongoing basis.

Required System Administrator Qualifications:

• At least three years of Linux support experience
•  Familiarity with Windows system administration
• Strong prioritization, problem solving, diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
•  Programming knowledge in Shell scripting, PERL and/or Python preferred
•  U.S. Citizenship

Desired System Administrator qualifications:

• Firm understanding of TCP/IP network protocols and core network devices and components
• Passion for technology, teamwork, overcoming challenges and providing exceptional customer service
•  Experience in the installation & configuration of packages such as Matlab, IDL, Jupyter Notebook, Mamba, SSHFuse on client and/or server side.
• Working knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) concepts and structure as it relates to the virtual environment.
• Experience in the installation & configuration of backup software on Windows & Linux, such as Networker, Druva, etc.
• Knowledge of DevOPS tools such as Github, Ansible is a plus
• Working knowledge of Virtualization (VMware), Cloud computing (AWS), containerization (Docker) is a big plus!
