SS100 Machinist
Position description:
Full time experienced machinist required to work in NASA Goddard Space Flight Center science team machine shop. Must be able to operate various types of machines to produce high precision parts for various flight and lab projects. Must have extensive knowledge of geometric tolerancing and ability to work with scientists and engineers regarding best machining techniques for designs. Must also be familiar with measuring devices to assure parts fall within required tolerances. Must maintain clean work area and machines. Must have familiarity with machining various metals and ceramics including titanium, Nickel alloys, stainless steels, aluminum and Shapal.
Skills required:
Proficient in Mastercam/ Featurecam
Minimum 10 Years of experience in Machining and CNC Programming
Experience with Manual Mills and lathes
Experience with CNC Mills, CNC Lathe and Wire EDM
Experience with 4 axis and 5 axis machines
Experience with EDM Drilling Machine(Hole Popper)
Ability to work to tight tolerances in Stainless Steels, Titanium, Nichrome and Ceramics
US citizenship or Permanent Residence is required.
