HP029 Graphic Programmer / Game Developer

We are seeking a Graphics Programmer/Game Developer to support the NASA Space Science Education Consortium (NSSEC) in developing game-like applications for a variety of educational and outreach projects at the Goddard Space Flight Center’s Heliophysics Science Division.

Duties:
• Deploy the latest technologies that include touch-tables, Virtual Reality head-mounted displays, and Augmented Reality hardware.
• Develop applications using current game development engines, including Unity3D and Unreal 4.
• Create educational applications using traditional programming and gaming design patterns.
• Produce scientific visualizations and render graphics using GPU hardware
• Interface with users, developers, scientists, and engineers to understand and implement NASA mission-related requirements

Experience (required):
• C++, OpenGL, DirectX, HLSL, GLSL, C#, Unity3D engine, Unreal Engine, and Object-Oriented Programming design patterns
• Demonstrated real-time rendering and graphics programming, specifically Volumetric Rendering of 3-D array data within Unity and application of polynomial mapping techniques to voxelized data to achieve acceptable real-time performance.
• Ability to optimize performance of graphical programs and shaders.

Experience (desired):
• Game development principles in Animation, Physics, and Game Theory disciplines
• Artificial intelligence algorithms

Minimum Education Level:
• MS Degree with specialty in Computer Graphics
