The successful candidate will serve as a science news producer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Dept. of Communications. Primary duties will include: Work with the Dept. of Communications lead news producer and executive producer to produce satellite media tours, write interview opportunity notes to editors (one-sheets); develop the story arc of the interview; edit video to support the interviews; coach scientists; coordinate with news stations; and communicate requirements to the technical staff at Goddard. The successful candidate will coordinate interview requests from broadcast news media and documentary producers and also produce news style video packages for NASA.gov and NASA’s social media channels.

Desired Experience:

• At least one year designing science communication campaigns
• Work with news media outlets to disseminate science news
• Develop strategies to engage potential recipient audiences
• Produce news releases
• NASA experience will receive strong consideration

Required Education:
• BS in Journalism or Communications, MS preferred
